Same thing that happened to this: http://blogs.nokia.com/pushn900/usa/...ike-dashboard/

lots of noise, huge publicity push, and the actual n900 users got ****ed out of something interesting.

Maybe that would sound more official if the council ask the developer if he intends to make it public? And that he could post what is his position?
The other solution is a bunch of thousands people to send him the question but he may feel harassed

Anyway I agree that it sounds very odd that Nokia could reward people for developing soft for their own and personal use
Or maybe it is blocked in the OVI tunnel where dark never ends...

Shouldn't one of the stipulations be if you win the prize (and 25k is a lot of money) then it has to be released otherwise the prize revoked?

i just skimmed the rules for this years contest, and there seems to be no such requirement.

but nokia has the right to release it if i understood correctly:

"Entrant hereby grants Sponsor (NOKIA) perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, fully sub-licensable, and non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, copy, adapt, publicly perform, communicate to the public, make available and publicly display any Entry that Entrant submits to this Contest"

Maybe there's something in the version he plans to release that needs PR 1.3?
