534 is the correct number.
The contacts which get stored seem semi random. Its a whole class from my Gymnasium(High school) + a teacher from the same time+some forum contacts+random people I dont know anymore. They could even be the first contacts I ever added into gmail.
I think this should fix your problem.
But you should seriously consider giving a name to the contacts you have on your phone

by the way, being very short on time, i would be considering collaborators for this project.
Anybody familiar with PySide (possibly also for the UI), and QtMobility/Maemo PIM, that is interested in helping out with this project? Features to-be-added are growing day after day, and time is instead shrinking..

Beware, some parts of the code are old, and written in a rush, so quite some refactoring is needed (in particular wrt. options management/handling, what can be used with what, and what cant, etc.)

i don't know anything about programming, but wouldn't be easier to sync using carddav protocol?

It would be maybe easier, but both carddav and syncml are fairly limited on the google side. For example, both of them do not support contact groups (tags), which is one of the reasons why i started this project.

Hi paoletto,

First, thank you for this great script...it's much needed since google has removed activesync for free gmail accounts.

I'm able to run the script properly, it says that it is adding my account, it shows the correct number of contacts to add and then says "Now filtering and adding". However, it doesn't add anything and drops me into a shell prompt.

I really don't know what else to do at this point...do you have any ideas?

SB
