@dubliner - congratulations! I'll let the ones who know more about 1+X Android versions to reply. It seems that you would have to "just" downgrade. I would expect that 1+X would have instructions somewhere on how to do that. Hopefully, someone can give specific instructions and help you out.
Don't forget to check that all works in Android - camera, phone functions, GPS, BT, and whatever you have there.

Thank you so much for your help!!! I really appreciate it.
Anyway, I hope I'll get around to finally installing SFOS later today.
One thing, though. When flashing, what do I need to erase? I know tutorials on this may be plentyful on the web, but many of them are confusing and contradictory (at least as far as I can tell).
Edit: To illustrate what I mean allow me to quote from the Lineage installation guidelines (which I assume are similar to our purposes):
https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/onyx/install
Quote:
4. Go back to return to main menu, then tap Wipe.
5. Now tap Format Data and continue with the formatting process. This will remove encryption as well as delete all files stored on the internal storage.
6. Return to the previous menu and tap Advanced Wipe.
7. Select the Cache and System partitions to be wiped and then Swipe to Wipe.
Are all these steps required, optional or in fact detrimental?
