I know it is not for free, but the two share 90% of the hardware and they run the very same firmware. I would understand it for the 770 (as it would imply supporting two different versions of it), but I don't get it for the N800.
Also knowing that, when they start selling it, there will be only N800 users around.

Same here...

I've emailed them asking if Wayfinder will be made available for purchase on the N800. I'll post back if and when they respond...

Okay, here's why I believe Wayfinder will be available for purchase on the N800 running IT OS 2008...

This is from the wayfinder site...

QUESTION: I have previously bought a Navigation Kit for Nokia N800 Internet Tablet, including Navicore Personal 2007 software. Now I updated Internet Tablet OS 2008 on my N800 Internet Tablet and Navicore Personal 2007 does not work any more. How can I use navigation?

ANSWER: Internet Tablet OS 2008 includes an integrated Map application. You can use your old Navicore Personal 2007 license key to activate navigation features of the map application. After entering your license key, the activated Wayfinder Navigator application provides equivalent navigation features compared Navicore Personal 2007.
Unless I'm reading this incorrectly, it looks like Wayfinder is coming to the N800 - I personally cannot wait =).

I got an email from Nokia about the N810.. In it there is one paragraph that put a smile on my face..

"For users of the Nokia N800 Internet Tablet this is great news as OS2008 and the Nokia N800 will work seamlessly together - just upgrade your software and you are ready to go. The key features of OS2008 include improved Adobe® Flash® 9 plugin and a browser based on Mozilla technology for easy media consumption and creation."

But that means, that it is cheaper to buy navcore and use it for wayfinder?

Ah I'm glad you found that. I had looked a few days ago and didn't see it.

Now I can breath a sigh of relief... as I will still have the functionality I paid for when I bought the NavKit. (I wasn't sure how they would handle the company switch... but it looks like we still get support.)

MEANING, the new OS should be out by then..
I also know when the OS2008 is coming and it's not on October 26. As said in the Nokia N810 announcement, mid November is when the N810 sales will start. There is not going to be any OS2008 to download before then.
