Just an added thanks to the other respondents, who all seemed to reply with their expertise while I was replying to the first two! The OS release support is particularly encouraging. I guess I should say 'sold' at this point

Fernandes, others have reported over 10 web windows open at a time with no issues. I really do feel like this is site-dependent (or at least technology-use dependent).

Fernandes, you were sold the moment you started asking questions; you just didn't want to hit any dealbreakers.

It ain't perfect yet; OS2008 probably won't be either. You will find yourself going through some technical hoops, and putting up with some limitations.

But you won't use it only in the ways you imagine. It certainly won't be gathering dust. And it beats the heck out of lugging a laptop around.

Fernandes, the number of web pages (or browser windows) you can have open at the same time depends on the web page. If there are lots of images then you cold run into memory problems maybe at just 3 pages, particularly with other applications also open. While if there are no pictures at all (or you turn off pictures in the browser) or any other things requiring memory, then you could probably have ten or more open.

Hm, I just did a test.. went to Slashdot's palm-version page (no pictures, except the slashdot logo) and opened every story in its own window. Got bored at 15.. no problems whatsoever. But it will be different with pages requiring memory.
