Anyone know if this is really an n800 specific release or just a repackaged 810 firmware?

Aw heck, it doesn't really matter...I'm going to try it anyway.

Ok...
At the end of the flash, I got this:

100% (128256 of 128256 kB, avg. 5770 kB/s)
Finishing flashing... done
Sending request 0x43 failed!

Bootloader error log follows:
Error reading spare of block 247, page 0
Error reading spare of block 247, page 0
EP0 in RX state, but no incoming packet
Premature end of control transfer

But after repowering it It booted up into OS2008. Everything seems wonderful so far (in the 30s of testing i've given it) except in the "About Product" it still claims that Im using OS2007 Ver: 4.2007.38-2

Weird! Anyone have any ideas what went wrong?

Still no FM-Radio applet. :-|

I've got the feeling, that the screen responsiveness is now similar to the old ITOS2007.

(flashed with the windows update utility)

I didn't get an error! And "About Product" shows OS2008!!!
Perhaps you should flash your N800 again!

Yup, Installed fine. Nothing new over the unofficial installation, no FM radio etc.

I'm going to run the back-up I made from the unofficial OS and see if anything explodes or suttin'

I've downloaded, but should really wait until some more apps are available - maemo-mapper for one.

Let's see if I can.
