As I noted in another thread, I bought a flexible suction cup mount from Best Buy that mated perfectly to the Nokia holder (using additional screws). It's not that hard to figure how they connect, either.

Not particularly helpful, but I thought I'd mention:
The "car kit" I got with the navicore stuff for my N800, came in real handy.
I just swapped the holders around and now I have a "sticky on" car holder for my N810, much better than attacking my car with a screwdriver!

Used a ProClip mount for my Volkswagen Golf V. It neatly fits next to the car stereo.

I think the N810 car mount kit is intended to attach to the Nokia HH-12 Easy Mount. Pictures here:

Many online sources for purchase.

OK thats all very helpful, but I already spent a whole sh*tpile of money on the device and some accessories, and so now I have to buy a $54 mount?

That is BS IMO.

@Texrat - how much was the mount you got at BBuy?

I do not know what mount you're pricing, but $54 sounds high. I recommend using PriceGrabber and Froogle to look for a better deal, or look for an equivalent mount from another manufacturer. If you're proposing that Nokia should include a mount with every tablet, then you're probably thinking of the suction cup type. Those should be readily available for $5 to $15.

The included holder is also completely non-adjustable on the fly, unless you can drive with one hand and carry a philips screwdriver in the other.
They definately designed this to use with their adjustable base system and probably decided to make an extra $ by not including with in the original package.

I ordered a complete car mount for $7 shipped and will let you know how it works.

Very nice Nilchak, thanks for letting us know! I read some of the reviews and this will be perfect. I also have the N810 stock mount sitting in the box, and I never liked the idea of the screw mounts.
