Its easy over wifi with scp, sftp, sshfs, MacFusion, fugu, etc. Plenty of secure options. No need for samba.

hmmm judging by the comments, I think I might just stick to good old pen and paper for the time being. Perhaps in a year or two there will be a model with a larger screen which would be better for taking notes on.

Thank you for your help, though.

Maybe you could keep an eye out for this one? No special paper needed, stores notes on its own memory and can be plugged in as a USB stick, uses HWR on the pc (MyScript Notes, which is nice) and is generally kewl.

Apparently Iomega is going to market it and it should be out there Real Soon Now (<TM>).
