In my winter coat pocket it gives me constant signals. I always get a fix before putting it in my pocket. Battery is very good. I use it all day long and the battery never runs out. Nokia should work with whoever makes these batteries. We need that kind of battery life on the Nxx series. I picked up one unit on line for $80 and $4 shipping.

Actually, Nokia should work with the guys that made the powersaving features on that GPS module. Its battery isn't special at all (450 mAh for the original and 350 mAh for the 2000 model). The 2000 manages the same autonomy as the original with a smaller capacity battery.

GPS receivers don't require much current. Computers require much, much more. Put a 5Ahr battery in a Nokia, and it will keep going for a long time. Those are big and expensive, though.
