hmmm, debfarm repo installed via app manager, did not fully refresh (stalled, connection timed out, GLIB CRITICAL failed to fetch etc) on a cleanly installed OS2008 on my N800 tonight. so i don't think its right yet?
---edit-- disabled added debfarm repo and and seem to be having problems refreshing apps list now?

From the source code I don't see the F6/F7/F8 so it looks like I'll have to recode it...
For the menu, try to reboot. Maybe it will appear. Usually packages will update the menu after installation but sometimes the update doesn't work.
At boot, the update-menu is run so it should create the entry.
If after a reboot, it's still not present then it's a bug.
