If you're going to stick with OS2007 for now, then Abiword will read and write Word files, with limitations of course. Just be sure to get the latest Abiword. I hope they port it to OS2008 soon.

Oh...so THAT'S why abiword wouldn't work on my N800...I have 2008installed! I wish I had read this before. Also, I struggled with Gnumeric, before reading a reply to my post later, that it does not work on 2008, either!

I was about to ask for anyone with knowledge of a good URL to download those programs, since I can't get them up and running!

Well, if I can find a word doc and excel spreadsheet program to work with 2008, I'll be a happy camper.

Anyone have info on when this might happen?
