I actually was paying attention to the fit and feel of the device itself yesterday. I am right in between and the device is just not comfy in my hands at all. The buttons on the side are just beyond my reach when holding and trying to read one-handed as I can on the Clie. Then it still feels awkward using it on the table with the kickstand. But is it easier then the Clie in that respect. The nx73v is hinged also so it can stand up on it's own, but only in portrait orientation. I prefer the landscape view wit the N800 while web browsing. But for reading books I much prefer portrait mode. I am still feeling my way along but neither orientation feels right just yet.

Of course it could also me due to...I HATED UNIX...hehehehe...I spent most of last night trying to remember all the commands (even Vi, which once ya get a feel is a nice editor). I remember talking with a buddy when I first was told our IT department was to over see the new accounting system the corp. just bought. Prob was they never asked me or us and it was a Solaris OS (when Solaris had just begun to create their X-Windows based GUI so it was pure command line) Anyway I had NOBODY, including me the boss, who knew squat about UNIX. So, I volunteered myself to the task of learning it. My staff was, well, really swamped on other issues...plus the company was so cheap the spent $125K (a LOT of money back then, especially when not asking for any input from the people you pay good money to to maintain and evaluate the underlying technology for these things....in a way it was high-larry-ous really) on a new job costing accounting system (which was actually quite solid) but were completely unwilling to pay for training to support the OS. I did have to spend a WEEK in a training seminar for the software itself learning how it worked. And I LOTHE accounting.

Anyway that was a long winded detail of the comment my buddy, knows UNIX, said to me. He said "...just think of the most cryptic abbreviation for a function/command and it will almost ALWAYS do something on a UNIX box...hahahahaha...never have forgotten that and spent HOURS yesterday rediscovering that teeny detail. And of course searching for Linux references online. I mean I had no choice but to begin digging into the thing...right?

So, thanks for the great suggestions!! I will investigate all of them for certain.

I also now completely see the need for a keyboard and will be ordering an iGo Stowaway this afternoon. Luckily typing still does not hurt my hands...even after 35 years of coding and what not. In fact it is easier than writing by hand. Weird, huh?
