Have you tried KDE from the hack that Penguinbait did?
It has a full office suite. There is an easy .deb app somewhere on these forums.
The KDE has over 100 programs within it.
Gnumeric and Abiword cause a lot of conflicts with other libraries, apps and repositories.
I had to unistall both after a few days. KDE is seemless. Dan
