I truly love my N810. Coupled with the brilliant programers who create programs for the NiT, I would definately choose them over a crippled iTouch. From a media standpoint, I don't think anything can compare with canola2 and integrated stereo speakers.

I have the N800 (not N810, which I wouldn't buy because I detest thumbboards, not to mention sliders) and an iPod Touch. In my opinion, the Touch is far superior for web browsing. Double-tapping on the column (etc.) that you want to zoom into is much quicker and less frustrating than using the fixed zoom levels (120%, 150%, 180% etc.). Navigation is also quicker and easier.

These days, I mainly use the N800 for taking notes using a Bluetooth keyboard (you can't do that with the Touch, which doesn't have Bluetooth, or even with the iPhone, which does). I often carry both but I find I use the Touch a lot more.

Bottom line: if you're going to use it mainly for browsing, get the Touch; if you need to use a harware keyboard, don't.

. . . and my experience has been exactly the opposite. Safari on the iPhone is just painful for me, while MicroB is both much more compatible and more usable. Honestly, Safari on the iMobile stuff isn't really all that far ahead of the rest of the mobile browser pack (screen resolution really comes into play here).

Bottom line: advice from random jerk-offs on the internet is almost always only a little useful, do whatever you can to get both devices in your hands and try them.

I just flat refuse to browse very often on any screen smaller than an N810's. Not gonna happen.

The iPod would be singing 'Rusty Cage', only... It has no speaker!

(Picture iPod piezo-buzzing a truly heart-breaking rendition...)
