I suggest a new poll.
How many times have you answered a poll in a reply, but not actually taken the poll?
Notice that most of the replies are "too many" type, but the poll (now) has 1 43+.
Not that anyone is required, just interesting.

I'm in the 11-20 group. Maybe it's even more. (In fact, I'm sure it's more, but changing a vote doesn't seem possible.) But all of those were while I was getting down how to clone the OS to the SD card. Since I got that routinized, I haven't flashed. So it's been one flashfree month.

Over 20 times since January 2008. Usually from OS 2008 to 2007 or visa-versa, just for the applications available in one that aren't ported to the other. Though I've been sticking with OS 2008 lately.
The last time I flashed was a few weeks ago from OS 2008 to 2007. But after installing a bunch of Bora apps and being disappointed with not being able to install some Chinook apps (Evince, TiEmu, Basilisk II, all the neat GUI modifications, etc.) I reflashed back to OS 2008 within 2 hours.
Now I have 6 MB free on my N800 and looking to clone it to a SD card to have more free space for applications.

This poll could never have my reply of choice in its options, as I think every reflash is one too many: A Linux device shouldn't have to be reflashed, unless something had gone very seriously wrong internally. The reflashing practice is one of developer laziness.

I assume every version N770, N800, then N810 otherwise I could breakdown the three...
N770, 20 times - last 2007HE with Skype
N800, 10 times - last 2008
N810, 6 times, so far....

mainly KDE, dual booting and other software that I ran into some kind of issue that made my NIT not run correctly for one reason or other...
am I getting better.....
....now with everything running as I like I think I am done until a new OS is released....

We can accuse the maemo guys of a lot of things, but "laziness" isn't one of them.
It seems quite a lot of Linux "computerette" developers think this is the "right" way to do things. Pepper e.g. went down that road also; luckily, they're now dead (albeit still twitching) and the community is picking up the pieces nicely.
