A bit off-topic but you can listen to the Cubs @

Thanks Havanci, this is a great app. I have got it installed and firgured out how to register and set up the config file. Bravo!

However, when I play it, Mplayers stutters something awful. Any suggestions on how to improve the playback?

I read the readme on sourceforge and the config file has 'audio_follow' where you can set the local broadcast. I have to wait until today's game starts to see if it works.

Also, the link to WGNAMCMP3: Thanks, I'll check it out too. I was under the impression that MLB clamped down on local stations broadcasting the games online. I thought the local stations switched or stopped their online streaming when the games are on.

So watching a live game works as opposed to the replayed games not doing anything. However, it only shows a jumbly blocky mess, though the audio is clear the whole time.

Also, the gameday audio is very quiet, and doesn't give the choice of broadcasters like the website does.

Yes, if I setup the ~/.mlb/config file with audio_follow=chc, I get the Cubs local broadcast. Without audio_follow, I get the LA local broadcast (the home team).

And the stream from WGNAMCMP3 is changed during the Cubs games to prerecorded WGN material, no baseball.

One more followup: I live in Seattle (my second favorite team) and you can set the audio_follow multiple times, one for each team you want to hear the local broadcast for. Here are the two lines from my ~/.mlb/config file:

audio_follow=chc
audio_follow=sea

I wonder what happens though if the two teams play each other. The volume issue definitely needs to be fixed for this to be usable for me for Gameday Audio. Unfortunately, the video quality issues also make it unusuable.

OK, I've made a pretty decent revision, which may solve a couple of problems. Most importantly the enabling of top plays and allowing the mplayer window to respond as it normally does (had to hide the game dialog). This will be a big help to any one with an n800 since my work around (when I got top plays working) was to press "q" and enter, then stoping the stream before mplayer cycled back into play mode. There is also a new button to stop the stream in the game dialog. I'll have to look into command args for mplayer to see if I can set the volume there. Probably the issue is that mplayer has a saved volume level, because it is plenty loud on my n810.

Oh, and the config now works from the program menu, so you can put in your username and password there. I still have to get the password input box to display password char's.

Another small revision to keep the game dialog shown when you play audio, and stops the audio when you press close.

OMG! This is absolutely AWESOME!! O man I really can't tell you just how cool this really is, especially for an old fart like me!

I love baseball but can't watch much TV. So far I've only been able to see the replays, and the video playback is fine. Again...BRAVO!

Suggestion:

Full screen mode for the gui would give more room for the labels. Right now I can only see one of the team names till I click the button. A simple text list would be a better interface, imho.

Again, my thanks.
