download easyroot from here:

http://nitapps.com/dists/chinook/use....0-4_armel.deb

Just click on the link from your tablet and it should install through the App Manager.

Then open "X Terminal" (it should be at the bottom of Applications menu --> Utilities)

and type:

Code:
root
apt-get -f install
Then answer "y" to any questions it asks

Hope this helps!

I use gnumeric to view/edit Excel files and doc Reader to view Word files. You have to also install Antiword for doc Reader to work. It uses Antiword to convert MS Word files to pdf or unformatted text files. The text files can be viewed from within doc Reader.

I installed gnumeric, doc Reader, and Antiword in Diablo without any problems. The last I heard, Abiword on OS2008 was still quite buggy, but I haven't tried it.

David, it looks like you don't have the repository in which abiword resides set up in your app-sources list.

Try going to gronmayer.com/it/ and searching for abiword. It should come up with a one-click install

A functioning Gnumeric is now part of the Diablo repos - just make sure they are all up to date in application manager, and you can pick it from the list.

Btw, I had serveral duplicate repos ... to get Gnumeric to install, I deleted the duplicates, let the new Diablo update run, updated a bunch of other apps and libs, and then re-installed Gnumeric. It reports version 1.8.3-maemo4.

before typing apt-get -f install, you have to have root privileges. so type sudo gainroot and you'll be good to go.
