I use a pen drive card reader, and stick 8gb cards into it and it works just fine.

Lord Raiden,

Can you identify the specific model of card reader please. I (and others) have been looking for this for some time.
Any details on model number, manufacturer and especailly if and where avaialble online. Thanks very much.
(I presume it is a single SDHC card reader?)

The Targus pen drive card reader (second picture, not the first), which you can get cheap at Kmart is one that works well (not available online). So does this one or this one via Amazon or this one from New Egg. The idea here is that you need the compact, pen drive form factor as they use the least amount of power out of all the card readers.

I've used the pen drive form factors for quite some time because they can be carried in your pocket, they act like a pen drive, and use very little power.

What we want is which card readers that have actualy been used with the N810. I have two readers and neither works. I don't want to buy a 3rd only to find that it doesn't work either.

Well, since I had the Digital Media from Amazon and the Targus I could test with, I tried them both. The Amazon Digital Media drive was a big fail. However, the Targus drive worked first try, and while read/write is a bit slow, it does work. The odd thing is, while reading, the targus drive caused the tablet to hack up it's cookies and reboot at one point. Most other times it was just fine, albeit slow. Another note, you will get a "usb device not supported" error when plugging in any of the pen drives, but it will detect and mount it anyways. Hope this helps.

PS: Here's a screenshot as proof.

How is 'writing'? I experienced more trouble with writing than reading, in general. Thanks,

Well, reading and writing were alright. The only reboot I had was writing to the pen drive, and that only happened once. Other reads and writes were fine.

Walmart should also carry the Targus reader too.

Any news or info on USB sticks that work wit NITs ( N810 ) without extra power ?

One that seems to work with my N810 is
Freecom USB CARD 4Gb (credit card size, 2mm/0.08" thick).
http://www.freecompromo.com/usbcard/
It is not too robust, but seems all right for a wallet or shirt pocket.
