Now, it'll only stay on if I turn it on with it plugged in, but I cannot turn it on unless it's plugged in first. I will let the old battery charge overnight.
Now, how do I "flash it to the new OS"...?
Which OS is that? OS2008?

When I got my N800 I left it to charge over night. I've had too many devices ruined because the battery developed a memory.
