Hmmm... This could be formed into a soundboard. Which could be used as drums.

And like tim said, it would be nice to add own sounds on the fly.

Cymbal--Hat--Cowbell(!)--Metal
Snare--High Congo--Mid Congo--Low Congo

Get it HERE!

And, yes, since I used PyAno's backbone, you can up the frequency on each hit with the volume hardware buttons. It'll double the pitch, I believe.

And the N810's keyboard can control the drums, too. (z-m, a)

Right now bug reports are needed if you find something! And suggestions are very welcome. (The errors importing the cdrom and joystick modules are already known. These will not effect PyDrum at all.)

The next thing I really want to implement is a way to create custom sound packs for this, though. Then a nice GUI will be on the block.

Thanks a lot, guys.

Enjoy!
I installed it on my N800 running OS2007. It installed but nothing comes up. Pyano works great. Need drums! <g>

Basically, I think people are starting to edge you into making this into a form of MOD editor for WAV/MP3 patterns.

u could allow this to become a program where the user can select the sound to be played and then have special hardware buttons for loops, and mixers, and eventually u might be able to create songs along with pyano for some melody .

Very cool idea!

I love it!

And the idea about being able to toggle on and off loops is a really good one as well. Just add a few button to the sides that are toggle buttons that allows the user to toggle on and off some loop(s) to run on the bg. Gonna be awesome!

Pattern editor. Where you can loop a measure and beat out a pattern. You can then assign those loops a letter (say 'Measure A' and 'Measure B' and so on). Then you can bring up an editor and lay out your patterns one after the other. So you can play from start to end... AABAABAACDAABAAB etc.

I might be able to rig up something of the sort... Recording is a but off at the moment, but making a tempo or a background might not be too difficult (knock on wood). Let me work on that...
