STSkeeps is already making a GUI-based installer that is in alpha testing here in the debian section... Part of that GUI installer could be a simple selection choice: "Which Environment: XFCE, Gnome, KDE, Enlightenment (E-Live)"... etc.

All bundled into a relatively easy package.

It already has now it lists the different nit-env's and a description.
Next up I'm adding Gnome, - you feel like contributing a nit-env-keblet?

The challenge is really to make a package like this:

http://trac.tspre.org/projects/deble...ages/nit-env-x

Where DEBIAN/control has the dependancies to get this running.

To build a package like that, dpkg-deb --build directory , dpkg -i directory.deb (apt-get -f install to fetch dependancies).

The package would also be able to contain kdm configuration files and all that jazz if need be

Yeah.. let me check Enlightenment tonight and make sure it runs and type up a quick Enlightenment on Deblet thread (shouldn't be much to it)..

Then I'll put together a nit-env-keblet .. or at least try .

I can tell you that standard Debian Enlightenment does run, I tried it, but I have no idea how to use / configure it. Like being dropped on an alien planet. I guess I just suck at new WM paradigms.

psykosis set up Enlightenment in a Debian chroot and posted a screenshot a couple of months ago. He claimed it was great for the IT.

They are all a little different. I think E17 has a program called elpanel which is the tool used to configure it. I have no idea what E16 uses.
