I'm trying to use gnokii-gconf from the Control Panel but I can't seem to get a connection with my phone (Sony Ericsson W810i) I put in the BT MAC address for my phone, phone Model is set to AT. For the rfcomm setting, most of the numbers begin to connect but then is seems the Gnokii Gconf freezes up. If I set rfcomm to 5 and click Identify Phone, my phone says "Nokia N810 connected", then the Gnokii Gconf panel closes by itself, and then my phone says "Nokia N810 disconnected".

Thanks in advance.

There is a bug in Gnokii Gconf panel at the moment. It crashes when trying to identify the phone ... I'm working on it ...

Not sure if this is possible, or if its a phone specific problem.

When I first heard of Phonelink my initial plan for it was to run it while in the car and running the GPS on the N810. If a call came in, it would display it on the N810 and give you the option to answer, hang up etc. Which is does. What I also wanted to do was pair my bluetooth headset with the phone as well so that when someone calls me, I can answer from my bluetooth headset or the N810, and never have to bother touching the phone (to see who's calling etc).

So basically my question is, is it possible to pair a cell phone with phonelink and a bluetooth headset at the same time?

I too am trying to get this working but I have a Motorola L7c (Verizon).

Where should I start? I have Phonelink & gnokii &gnokii-gconf installed.

Thanks!

To dsnye...

First thing you need to get is your Bluetooth MAC address for your phone, which you can find in the tablets Bluetooth device settings. Enter that in the first line in Gnoki Gconf (which you open from the Control Panel, near the bottom).
Then select your phone model, which I'm told most non-Nokia phones get set to AT. Check the wiki page for Gnoki for the list of phones that have been tested. They list their settings, look for a Motorola and see what phone model its set to.
Finally, the rtcomm number I think is just trial and error. Select each number and tap Identify Phone until your phone gives confirmation that its connected. If gnokii crashes, reboot it and set the rfcomm to the number that worked, and press OK. When you start Phonelink the tablet and your phone should connect, assuming you have the SMS and/or phone options checked in Phonelink.

Note: Bluetooth should be turned on for both devices before using gnokii, but I don't think you need to have them paired before hand.

My phone (a Sony Ericsson w810i) must not be able to do this then. If my phone is connected to Phonelink and I tell it to connect to my headset, it says "Stereo Headset Connected" and then "Nokia N810 Disconnected".

If I try the other order in connecting (Headset then Tablet), I get the same result ("Nokia N810 Connected", "Stereo Headset Disconnected")

Is there any special way that you've gotten it to work with your phone, or does it just work? Right now, like I said, I think my phone is the problem.

I did it with my W880i : headset connected and then phonelink connected to dial for example ...
But it was a long time ago and I'll have to check if I can do it again
