I mean they don't expect people to change from whatever account they're using to Nokia Chat, do they? It would be cool to have it as a generic XMPP-client, but the way it is restricted to Ovi makes it pretty much useless.

I've got 3 or so different accounts setup on my N810, I can accept and send IM messages to any of them, assuming there's someone online. This Ovi based one just means I'll be able to talk to people on their mobiles.
that, and having a two way bridge with the nokia map system on the phone (as i do believe that gps data can be pushed to the map app for navigation on nokia phones).
