You quoted it yourself: http://mt.google.com/mt?v=w2t.999&x=%d&y=%d&zoom=%d

(I've since added it to the Repositories lists.)

No, they're not down. And I'm not having any problems accessing it right now. Could it be a proxy issue? I think "2.4.1" was released around the time that www.gnuite.com hosting was transferred. That may have something to do with it. Can you access the following URL directly in your browser (check on both your PC and your tablet):

Could this be to do with layers?
It's possible, but unlikely. If you want to fix a tile like that, just view it in Maemo Mapper, then go to the "Manage Maps" dialog. Select the "Overwrite" checkbox and press Ok. This will re-download the maps, hopefully with the correct coordinates this time.

I have been using M/M 2.4.1 with Shmuma's patch without problems for some time now (thanks to both of you )... How is version 2.5 better?

Is it worth the upgrade?

Gnuite:

Thanks for your reply. Bad news...there seems to be some blockage on the hosting side of gnuite.com. I am located in Mexico and I can't do:

1.- Get any web pages on www.gnuite.com (tried both, from my normal PC and from the Nokia I.T.); of course no firewall issues on this side.
2.- No ping response whatsoever from gnuite.com.
I did this from my home PC, my office PC, and my servers located in
DataCenter. Same result for all. No ping response.
# ping gnuite.com
PING gnuite.com (64.72.119.253) 56(84) bytes of data.
Dead, no response.
3.- The traceroute is as follows, from my home PC which is on ADSL:

I can do a ping to number 11 above and it responds OK.

Well, that is as far as I can go from this side . Any comments or aid in debugging this would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, Is anyone having troubles, either permanent or intermitent from some other places to access www.gnuite.com ?

Thanks in advance, best regards.

v2.5 includes the fixes in v2.4.2 (see the Changelog for more details), as well as a fix to a bug in Shmuma's patch (when re-ordering layers for a repository, assuming you have multiple layers).

If you're already using Shmuma's patch, and if you don't need anything in v2.4.2, and if you don't use multiple layers per repository, then you don't need to upgrade to v2.5. But why not?

Does this mean you can't download routes or POI, either?

so, any plans for making it easier to download maps on the go, without having to use automatic downloading?

What exact options are you looking for? I mean, we've got download along a route, in a screenful (easily) or an arbitrary rectangle (harder); are you wishing for arbitrary shapes, or something else entirely?
