By the way, the hardware keys (at least on the N800) can be simulated remotely by hitting the Function keys on a standard keyboard.
F4: Menu HW key
F5: Home (Swap) HW key
F6: FullScreen HW key
F7: + (Zoom in) HW key
F8: - (Zoom out) HW key

Nah, you should be alright, the package uses the same version number as the diablo one (couldn't be bothered to do a dch -i 
). Only downside is that an apt-get upgrade will download the same version of hildon-desktop from the repos and reinstall the nokia stock version without the applet locking and the pressure sensitive applications button.

Hmm it keeps saying incompatible package. Could it be the rotation support from sliderotate is causing problems?

Open a xterm and
dpkg -i package_name
as root.
