Skype reconnects for me without a problem. The only thing I would say that needs improvements is the video. The quality seems fine. And the UI, while not the best, isn't bad given the whole "make it fit on a tablet screen" thing.

I use a N800 and sound quality is great.

Why not use Fring? It worked nicely for me for voice/text chat with my skype contacts.

Actually, since Fring came out for the IT's, I uninstalled Skype (to save space) and use Fring exclusively - as its one app and one interface to see all my skype contacts as well as Yahoo, Gmail contacts too.

And since Skype on the IT didn't support video (unlike Gizmo), I lose nothing by using Fring instead. Only wish Fring had a different icon to represent contacts in different protocols (Skype, Yahoo, Gmail etc). Noy they all look the same and one has to double click on contact to see which protocol they are on.

I prefer not to give my passwords to 3rd parties... And I read somewhere that Fring messed up someone's Skype settings.

You prefer not to give your passwords to 3rd parties yet you trust Skype to own your username, password, billing information, personal information, and data exchanged through chat and voice? Strange.
