chrisak, if -- after you have shut down Skype -- you put the tablet into "Offline mode," then immediately back into "Normal mode," it will allow you to lock the tablet, (at least it works for me).

You can get the offline menu by either pressing the recessed button on top of the N800, (don't know about N810, probably the same), or clicking on the connection icon on the home screen.

I reboot every time i forget to charge the tablet

I rarely reboot. If I reboot too much (because of system hang) I'd re-clone the SD or re-install the kernel (and the apps which are from backup): something was wrong!

I have found out that removing app (using app manager) sometimes doesn't release all memory it should on the partition and sometimes the IT doesn't behave well. My solution: clone/re-install then restore the apps from backup.
