Is there a way, to run Tear directly from one of the 3 icons in the sidebar? I think of replacing the MicroB icon by the Tear icon, showing bookmarks when clicking it - as MicroB does by default...

Yes, check the first post in the Tear thread - True Journals wrote a Tear Bookmarks task navigator plugin that you can install from extras-devel.

It's actually on the second page, post 19, for anyone else puzzled by this (I installed the Tear Bookmarks yesterday, but I've been baffled by how to get it to work until now.)

In fact that's an old version, the last one is in Extras-devel.

You're right, though the instructions on how to install it are in the post I linked to (they may be somewhere else too, but that's where I found them).
