Updated to the new dev version without updating libpurple and it still works for me. Odd. o:

Well, IF the developer has picked Pidgin back up for continued development, I wish he'd/she'd fix the one bug I can't stand. Trying to open up UI from the Status bar won't show up until I hit the desktop menu and click out of it. It's really annoying. >.<

Yeah, I'm forced to get used to it. I've dealt with it since I got the N800 a few months back. It's just one of those things that could have been fixed earlier on. >.<

it could be you already edit your pager server into 'cn.scs.msg.yahoo.com' when using the old version of pidgin. the old version of libpurple0 (version < 2.5.7) still supported by this server, but not supported by yahoo default pager server 'scsa.msg.yahoo.com'

i just disabled the tray icon and activated the icon blink using the extra notifications in plugins

True. Then again, I don't use Yahoo! IM anymore and didn't before I made the guide to getting it working again with the other page server. I basically did it for those that wanted to connect to it and use Yahoo! IM.

@tso, I'll have to look at that when I get home. Thanks for the suggestion.

note, the tray icon needs to be disabled via the preferences, interface tab.
