They need to separate and provide an attractive platform for companies (developers which chose to create products to sell) in order to join. Ovi Store has this potential.
At the same time though, the users should get all the info from one place simple and easy. Maemo Select could be such an interface to both worlds.

If that is the case, I find it a very good compromise and I really like that they don't try to mix people with different agendas like professionals and enthusiasts.

BTW, shouldn't the "Maemo" be written as "maemo"?

From what I understand, when referring to the platform itself, it's "Maemo" (with the capital M), but when you are referring to maemo.org, the community side of things, it's with a lowercase m.

Anyway, if you're interested in some of the details, see the Maemo branding wiki page.

Nokia does not need to create an App-store.

We already have the Application manager. It just lacks an electronic payment system.

But for now there is not enough share software to add such functionality.

It's more interesting to add these features in Application Manager:
- Add a personale comment to a software.
- Rate software. (0-->5)
- Share the list of software installed with the contacts XMPP (Jabber, GTalk chat and Nokia).
- Option to keep packets, to send these to friends via wireless Ad-Hoc.
- Etc...

If anybody is interested in helping out, getting commit access to the h-a-m git shouldn't be any issue at all. Nokia's been waiting for an interested community hacker (or three) to step up and take a swing at implementing some of the proposed Application Manager improvements.

I'm interested.

But I am waiting to see if Nokia announces App-Store during the Nokia World.

And problem are that:
- My English is bad.
- I have not much experience.
- I started my final year of study (four computer technician) and I have a work of semester to make for November which is a software for Maemo. This project is a priority.

PS: It could take contact with Canonical, they prepare something similar to an App-Store for Ubuntu.

PPS: Or we can rely the current application manager and take is that we lack in the source code of Android Market (if the licenses are compatible).

The problem is that the absence of an Software Store could bring not many software and not many software that can bring not many users.

But whatever is chosen, this must remain Free (as free speech) and anyone can distribute his software independently.
