Hopefully this task could make it for the next sprint.
I will work on something to make this possible -- a sort of page that Brainstorm can call that auto creates a new thread in the Talk Brainstorm forum (to be added). It will also return the created thread id so Brainstorm can link to the correct thread at Talk. This would hopefully make it easier for Henri and Oskari to bridge Brainstorm with Talk.

Note however that it might still be awkward for members to use a different login to create a new Brainstorm topic/solution, and another login for Talk. Talk members who don't have maemo.org accounts will find it difficult to vote on the solutions.

There are also other things to consider:
  1. Do we want to display the full description of the Brainstorm topic on the automatically created thread in Talk. If yes, this would mean, that the Talk thread contents needs to change if the Barainstorm topic description changes, or
  2. On the Talk thread, instead of showing the description of the full Brainstorm topic, we can just show something like a 'This is the discussion thread for the Brainstorm Topic: <Brainstorm Topic Tile>'
  3. Do we want to display the discussion thread under the Brainstorm Topic or just a link to the corresponding Talk thread? If we do, then I can probably create a feed by thread so Henri/Oskari can just parse the contents.

Single sign-on will come one day but I wouldn't wait for it to implement this.

Option 2 is he easiest and better. No need to duplicate discussions in the Brainstorm proposals. This is like the elections: there is ona place to discuss and another place to fine tune programs and vote them.

Reggie & others, are you aware of he proposal of opening a Brainstorm forum? This is something that, if you agree, is easy to implement and will bring a very visible change.

Yes, I've seen that proposal. As I have mentioned in my reply above, a Brainstorm forum will be created for sure, and I think it's the best way to add visibility to all the brainstorm ideas.

As for "talk.maemo.org/brainstorm" (solution #2), if the bridge between talk and midgrad becomes a blocker, I propose moving the whole 'brainstorm module' to the talk server, and tweaking it to use the forum login. I can then have an easier way of integrating it to the forum.

Looking forward to move this Brainstorm idea to "Under development". Is someone (NetBlade / Reggie) working on this already?

It's not clear whether it is included in the current sprint. If not, it would be good to have it officially committed in the November sprint.

As far as I know this is done by removal of the comments...
What is happening about the Auto-Starting-Post feature? (A new brainstorm starts and updates starting posts in talk)
