I suspect that the only reason there is any resistence to the idea of giving Mer the section it obviously deserves is that the powers that dominate this site want to hype the N900 right now and don't want distractions.
Mer is potentially wonderful; it would cost nothing to give it its own section.

Qole provides some tricks for finding Mer threads. As long as threads are properly tagged this works well.
