Amazon is selling sim-free and unlocked for £470. That's where I shall buy from if I decide on this device. Not least for the sheer brand-trust of amazon!

£448.49 at http://www.handtec.co.uk/product.php?xProd=2346

On my google shopping search they have the best combination of low price and high seller rating with decent number of reviews... Anyone used 'em before?

I am not from UK, but I found this. The price is £435.85. Since I am from Bulgaria - this means when it's out it could cost me £600 (of course I will never spend that much). So I will have two options - buy from Europe and don't have warranty or wait the price to drop in my "priceless" country. Either way I will get it.

P.S. I could have some mistakes when writing in english, so excuse me, it is not my native language.

On the right-hand side of that page it says "Please note: official price to be confirmed". So I don't think their price of £435.85 means much at this stage.

Regards,
Roger

the original poster's pricing of (mobilephonesdirect) less than 400 for PAYG on vodafone seems to have disappeared only to be replaced with £450, the same as the sim-free.

the t-mobile 15/month on an 18 month contract with device costing £141 works out about £411., so it is possible to save money using carrier subsidy if you're careful, but one of the other deals to get the n900 "free" would mean spending £960 over two years!!!

personally, I prefer to buy devices unlocked - sim free - unbranded - so that I know there's been no monkeying around with it to disable features.

a while ago I had friends buy stuff of handtec and were v happy with speed of delivery and lack of issues.

I note that the handtec price is 449 + delivery + vat = £524

Yeah, the Handtec price seems to have gone up; it used to be 448 inc Vat. Still, they do have a price-match offer. Not that I care, having ordered from Nokia using the 3 discount codes mentioned on the UK network thread. 8-)
