Haha I wonder what the Evernote app is? Or is it just for pictures and tagging and not a full evernote client like on the iPhone. There's no screenshot..

Seeing Evernote there is interesting. I was thinking of doing something with Zim for maemo, but i'm not sure what the demand would be with an Evernote client.

So what exactly is the distinction between 'From Ovi Store' and 'From Maemo Community', and how does the maemo-extras repository interact with this?

Do you mean technically or what?

Ovi Store and the Extras respository are run by different entities. There are different rules for getting your software into each of these distribution channels. I'd expect community members to go for Extras, whereas others (like Fring or Skype) might feel uneasy with a completely community run Extras repository and choose Ovi Store instead. (Another thing is that with Extras, you upload the source code... If you want to distribute proprietary software, Ovi Store is the way to go for you.)

Technically, Maemo Select doesn't really host any of these packages. It only provides the .install-files that work the same way they do on downloads.maemo.org. They link to selected packages from both Ovi Store and Extras.

The only difference is that an install-file for Ovi Store software will direct application manager to a different repository than a fiel for software from Extras.

Small list to start but won't be like that for long
also has tabs for themes and wallpapers
Sorry for asking multiple times, but does anyone know if a Kindle app will be showing up on this list?

Right; that makes a lot of sense, thanks. So the 'from the community' part of Maemo Select is essentially edited highlight of maemo-extras?

Basically it just enables sharing for pictures. (integrated to maemo, no need to launch any special application). You can access the Evernote stuff with the browser using the Evernote Mobile login page (www.evernote.com/m/). Seems like a very nice service (started using it today ). Tags etc from pictures works nicely and I can see a lot of potential for this personally.

I'm assuming these are all for Maemo 5, not earlier versions? Shouldn't it specify?
