the fact is theres a lot of games out there based on stuff like the quake3 engine that could be ported quite easily, i'd pay for RTCW.

I terms of new game development im more dubious, the retro games on emulators will likely be better than any scaled down games for the phone.

most mobile games ive seen are not up to the quality of the sega/nintendo back catalogue.

If i were nokia i would have done a deal with the old game IP owners and rolled out emulators as part of the base built. If you were to go live with a default games roster like sonic and subscription/apps catalogue instead of tetris you could built a critical mass of mobile gamers.

emulators would be great... Sonic is cool..add Mortal Kombat and Earthworm Jim and we have a deal... not to mention that the whole Half-Life 1 series could run on the N900 very well...grr

I have very serious doubts of the N900 as a successful modern gaming platform. It certainly has the hardware, but will need a lot more to gain the support of 3rd party developers.

I agree, I'm really worried that the N900 will never have any commercial games made for it. Just look at the N810, I think it only has one commercial program at all. Very sad, poor Maemo.

Seems just a test package, only shows a grid of colours, but seems that they are indeed developing for Maemo
