I have three extra repositories enabled:

extras
extras-devel
extras-testing

However, checking the repositories and python2.5 appears to be in both dev and extras (which means it should have been in testing).

Did you try "apt-get install python2.5"

Nathan always use fakeroot before apt-get install

fakeroot apt-get install python
fakeroot apt-get install python2.5

The one in the GUI core dumps when I use in sbox CLI.
