wow these are amazing savings especially for family plans.

I was calculating it out I would get for 4 lines $109/mo for the family plan plus $5/additional line $119/mo for 750 minutes which is comparable to what I have now, and unlimited text and web for all lines...

Right now I pay $129/mo for 1000 minutes (we never use these) and 400 texts on one of the lines, and unlimited web on another one of the lines.

For me to get these same features on all 4 lines I'd have to pay $225/mo
GJ Tmobile!

Tempting to get this plan. At the moment, I have:
1000 mins ($39.99) + 400 text ($4.99) + unlimited data ($5). Which comes out to be the same as the new plan... tempting, particularly since I don't do much talk on the phone anyway....

These new T-Mobile plans do not include data for smartphones. That's an extra charge. Included data is for dumbphones.

I was hoping for T-Mo to introduce European-style no-contract pricing to the US, so I could save on the monthly charges with an unlocked N900. Well, they did that with the Even More plus plans. In fact, they are pushing everyone to eventually go non-contract. But for some, especially current T-Mo users, the new deals may work out to be higher than the old deals.

That said, T-Mobile is still far and away the best deal for me - as long as I'm grandfathered in with my old plan. Here's why:

I just found out this morning i get -13% discount for my AAA membership. Called 611 set it up and it saves me over $20/mo. So now I have grandfathered:

2 unlimited Loyalty Family Plan lines............................................$ 90
3rd unlimited line added............................................. ....................$40
1 smartphone dataplan unlimited 3G data + 400 text (plenty)...$25
Total............................................. ............................... ...................$155/mo
Already the cheapest anywhere, now less AAA discount........-$20
Final total (less taxes and fees of course)..................................$135/mo

That's a VERY good deal for 3 unlimited lines and 1 unlimited 3G+text smartphone dataplan. No other carrier can touch it, including T-Mo's new Unlimited EM+ no-contract plan. And I can still get subsidized phones if I re-up for 2 years (though I probably won't, going to unlocked generic phones).

PLUS...the N900 I have on pre-order plays nice with T-Mo's 3G which is getting the speedy HSPA+ upgrade.

Been happily with T-Mo for 12 years. Excellent coverage in my area, never had a problem. Looks like I'll be with them a few more years. But thank goodness for grandfathered plans 'cause Project Black is a loser for many current customers.

I'm not convinced of this....

Read this from the T-Mo site:

With an Android phone, everything you love about the Internet is right on your phone—so it’s easier than ever to connect to the people, places, and information you want, wherever you are. Plus, you can personalize your phone with thousands of downloadable apps from Android Market.

Even More PlusSM Plans feature bundled messaging and Web services, which means that you pick your services according to the plan you select. If you choose an Android phone—which requires a data service in order to fully function—you’d want an Even More Plus Talk + Text + Web plan.
They only offer the new Even More plans.

To test, i added a mytouch into my cart, selected the even more plus unlimited plan and proceeded to checkout without a hitch.

Prior to this, you would have been prompted to select a separate data plan, but not anymore.

That's not what I got.

I just transferred my number from AT&T to T-Mobile earlier today and I got:

Even More Plus (Talk + Text + Web)
No Contract
500 Anywhere minutes
Unlimited Text
Unlimited Data (With a smartphone. I even mentioned that I would be using an n900 when it gets shipped)
Unlimited Nights and Weekends
Unlimited T-Mobile to T-Mobile.

All for $59.99 a month (Plus government taxes of course)

I hope this is helpful for the rest of y'all that are thinking of switching.

i dont see how this is any good if you currently already have a loyalty program...which is wide open to those that have already been on service for 2 years with them.

currently, i have 4 lines on tmo.

family loyalty plan.

90/2 lines
40/ea for 2 lines
1 total internet @ $20 (grandfathered)
2 t-zones @ $5.99 (grandfathered)
1 unlimited text for account @ $10.

$212 +tax...=$236/mo.

new plan

$140/2 lines
$50/ea for 2 lines
2 text messaging @ $20/ea.
2 total unlimited web @ $40/ea.

$360 +tax = $400.

you gotta love marketing...makes things looks sooooo goood.

This is as things are not as they were with tmo... I have a a tmo line and att line I been paying a good sum each month with this new plan I didn't need min as of yet still as I am not sure I will use the n900 exclusively... but I kept the line open as I like to test apps and stay up to date... well I had customer service today switch me to a data only with a 10 dollar add on for sms... I told him even though I had a g1 currently I would be switching to the nokia n900 which he knew about after a lil probing on his end switch my contract to data only 39.99 and 10+ add on for 49.99 total... for what I wanted and use its good for me I like that I had the option as before there wasn't and they wouldn't previously... new rules apply for me it works...

Got it. Yeah, I was planning on switching anyhow due to the AT&T network where I live being too crowded. I was having major problems between 4pm - 7pm on weekdays. During those times of the day I would get rejected or dropped calls all the time and a max data rate (on 3G) of 35 Kbps. So, I figured I would take the chance on T-Mobile. The new plans just so happened to come out at a good time :-D.

Hmmm....seems basically, you're right. I have 3 unlimited talk lines. So to compare the new deal with my grandfathered plan, I tried ordering the Unlimited Family Even More Plus (2 lines) and sure enough, no extra charge for data. Then I added a 3rd unlimited line for $35. BUT, if I want data on the 3rd line, it adds $25 or $60/mo total for the 3rd line.

Total monthly charge for 3 lines, all with unlimited talk, text and data is $200 or $175 if no data is included on the 3rd line. Either way, all 3 lines would include text however. I pay $155/mo now (before my AAA discount) for 3 unlimited lines, But, there's no text or data on 2 of those, it's not needed.

So, all said, I can't get a cheaper deal with the new family plans 'cause the first 2 must include text + data. I would save a little money with an EM+ plan if I ever need 2 or more lines with data.

None of these plans is bad deal, but I was hoping for a bit better price on no-contract pricing.
