You'll need to fix your /etc/bluetooth/main.conf to make the N900 into an HID host as per the wiki article.

Supposedly, the mouse should work on the N900. The bug was marked "Fixed in Fremantle"...

would be cool if people from this forum would pour the engadget/gizmondo site with links of what the n900 can do and the competition (aka iphonie) cant...

i did my part already but they just listen to requests just when a big amount of people (or just a small if its just another Aplpes rumor) sends the same link...

And oh god, if they publish they better say good things otherwise FLAME WAAAAAAAR in engadgets forum

Why did he try to install a 3.1 instead of a mobile version?

Are you using my DOSBox build? (The one in extras-devel) If so, be sure the CPU is set to auto to get some of the JIT core goodness.

I don't see what HLT support has to do with performance, but yes, DOSBox supports HLT (setting a high enough frameskip and installing DOSIdle results in 0% CPU usage by the DOSBox process).

Mostly for the sake of the system it's running on. If Windows/DOS is keeping the CPU pegged at 100% then screen redraws may be slow on the host end. Not sure if that plays out in reality, but it was a thought.

Yes that's the one I'm using and I have the CPU at auto. The frameskip option seems to make it faster though it's really pointless for two reasons:
- Windows 3.11 isn't stylus-usable
- Windows 3.11 is useless anyway

Oh, I can use it on my N810, after a bit of practice. Also, don't run 3.11 (WfW?) but rather the older versions capable of letting you choose between real mode, 286 protected and 386 protected versions. They're a bit faster here.

As for the stylus issue. Well, DOSemu seems to have solved it with a special w3.1 mouse driver (shared with OS2 it seems). Unfortunately I want to keep my sanity and don't plan to develop any 3.1 driver soon, so I am open to suggestions.

Some googling suggests that the mouse problems might be fixed by messing with xorg.conf or the mouse sensitivity within DosBox is set too high. But if it was that easy to fix.... The N900 uses a "real" XServer, so maybe there is hope to get things working...

Except I just spent the last 15 minutes looking for a "real" xorg.conf on my N900 and via Google and there doesn't seem to be any, only a stub of one. How is the touchscreen configured in Fremantle, if not through xorg.conf?

It looks like DOSemu doesn't emulate the CPU, you couldn't just port that. Any way to import the DOSemu mouse driver to dosbox? I suspect not, by your reaction.

perhaps to prove that an emulation of x86 processors is possible
on the n900 witch would maybe lead to a fallout 1 or 2 gaming
experiance. unfortunately i don't see that happen.
at least it's a proof of concept
