I just went through each and every post you ever made and thanked you for it.

Though to be quite honest, 99.2% of everything you posted here was crap.

When someone hildonizes TK I bet it would work like in n8x0, but making it finger friendly would require a complete rewrite with some other toolkit.

The good news is that the N900 still ships a stylus. I guess those appreciating Scid would forgive the lack of finger friendliness in menus etc. The board itself will be ok.

In that case I'll see what I can do.

Well there goes the end of my current streak on thanking you. There's no way I'm giving you any respect for that comment. *lol*

Okay, so I wanted to pop in here real quick and mention that playing online over at FICS is definitely doable and works extremely well, even for someone with a N800.

I'm currently trying to figure out the best way for the screen layout to appear. Give me a couple of days on this and I can post my options.dat file for others to use if needed.

The first thing that really is required is to "Dock Windows" under the Windows option.

Unfortunately that currently blows the whole full screen feature so you're back to doing this in Xterm after launching Scid which was mentioned previously.
wmctrl -r scid -b add,fullscreen

Here's a few tricks if nobody knew of them before:
You can "right click" on a tab and dock the window to the top, bottom, left or right of the screen.
You can "left click" on a tab and drag it to another area on the screen. This is much different than right clicking though.
Windows can be resized by dragging on the the edge it.

Anyway, give me a couple of days and I'll hopefully get a nice start up screen for both portrait and landscape modes.

Ukki, exactly where are you with this?

Was it simply a thing to see if it could be done or do you have more interest in this beyond that?

There's about 5 things that could use a little work with one being slightly more moderate in difficulty (maybe). Just wondering where your head is at on this.

I'm not going to mention what any of them are right now since I must........remain.......grateful!

So yeah, here are two screen shots of my default layout when heading over to FICS if anyone wants to see them.

I'll see what I can do, but I'm not familiar with tcl/tk nor chess so... I disabled docking because I couldn't get the main window to go fullscreen with it enabled, but I'm sure it's doable. But drop by at irc so we can discuss this.

Oh yeah, that sounds good to me!

I can stop by there in 5 days from now.

I look forward to sharing interesting and creative ideas together and then getting to argue with you immediately afterwards.

Real quick until then... What happened when compiling the graphics for the chess pieces? Some of them are missing including Merida1 which is the only good looking one out of all of them.

Hopefully you didn't just pick up on how picky I'm being on this.

Okay, these are probably the two best layouts I could come up with for both landscape and portrait mode.

If someone has any better suggestions on this feel free to post.

Many thanks again for compiling Scid for us Ukki! For me at least, it's probably the best application released this year!

Cheers!
