I know I can remap keys but it remains frustrating nonetheless.

Seeing for all his life a shiny illuminated keyboard with the WRONG keys is not nice.

And what frustrates me more is seeing someone who decided that arrow keys are not so important... not as important as some stinking àèìòù...

I look at my keyboard and arrow keys are damned consumed...

I'm planning to buy from the UK (not sure which site to order from yet as Amazon is not up yet even...) as I want the UK keyset physically.

The nonexisting arrow keys did it for me :P

Ehehe... I didn't think I would be one of those who said it.

I didn't complain about the wait or lack of informations, but this surprise is a bad one. It's like discovering (again) you are in the third world if technology.

I am already upset to the italian PC keyboard: yes, we don't have curly braces, ~ and the accent ` but we have a nice § symbol no italian has ever used or even knows its meaning

I would just like to meet the person designing the italian keyboard and hear from him: "I am sorry".

Bye,

Bye,
I suggest you contact nokia and ask if it could be possible to modify the standard italian keymat. atleast with money you can yourself decide which key goes to where...

or form a group and create a layout together and make group order for keymats and installation -> cheaper (if nokia doesnt give something like that for free)

Then there's also the question that how much you're actually going to be needing the arrow keys? Personally I would rather take ä and ö over the two arrows any day since I don't see myself using the arrows that much with touch screen device.

So probably best way to decide this would be taking a deep breath and thinking about how you're going to be using the phone. If there really is important use for arrow keys and remapping seems too much hassle for you, then you probably would be better off with some other device (or buying one with other keyboard layout?).

Anyway it might be interesting to hear from people who have used this device how much use there really is for those.

I am looking for a US or UK layout too but "third world if technology", because of a kbd layout that doesnt meet your needs? If I would bother that much over layout I would go crazy! My notebook got a reorganized german layout, my workstation got a german std, my 2nd a UK the 3rd a US, my home PC got US my server in the kitchen got german, the unix workgroup I am member of had all kinds of keyboards but all set to US layout (we got new kbds last year with US layout printed), and you complain about 4-6 changed buttons!
Get me dvorak because I am used to it damn!
guys calm down! arrow keys arent unimportant but will not be used as frequent as you think on a n900! (well easy to say when used to [IJKL][WASD][,AOE])

I will be using xterm and vim very much, that's why I am so concerned about arrow keys
