Oh and on the subject of copyright. Action taken by Nintendo in London has little affect on a forum member based in italy, germany so on and so forth

Also I say again. It's not just the emulator I have asked for help on. In fact, here's a public response to my question about boot screen customization

We just don't want ordinary users to instantly render their device a brick. When an application is stable and working it will appear in Extras for anyone to download.

no disrespect to the OP but maemo.org is a community... i.e. a little give & take... people answer when they can... a thread I created a few days back regarding what to do first goes unreplied... yet I take it on the chin & i've carried on...

the community relies on USER input... users get pissed off with threads like this = users don't bother = community dies.

that's all i can say... I've learnt more about maemo5 & the n900 in 48 hours from the community than I have by googling...

Thank you for proving my point!

For those who seem upset by me posting my genuine thoughts. For those who will sign in and tell me to look elsewhere, my experience is not genuine, Or that maemo.org is not a closed community.

Please look at the above.

Instead of maemojedi being your username it should be maemopadawan.

Or you could use Google to search for changing the graphic in GRUB (assuming here it uses GRUB, don't have my N900 yet), and investigating further. At least show the community here that you have some understanding of the process in Linux first, and if any gaps need to be filled, or confirmation of a process, it is better to ask in that manner rather than "tell me how to do this". Others are simply protecting themselves from the users who come back and go "U SAYZ IT WOOD WERK!!!11! NOW MY N900 NO BOOT!!!" and blame them rather than researching the issue first. Better to teach a man to fish rather than catch the fish for him.

See to say this would be to suggest I have demanded anything. I never have, never will

Secondly a simple "how to" thread with a disclaimer. But Nooo. In a month or two we'll see if I'm right or wrong?

Before my N900 I had a 3gs & the difference between Apple/iphone & Nokia is abundantly clear to me.

Apple refuse to make their products open source but the community help as best they can. (Jail break forums etc etc)

Nokia create open source products but it's users guard their knowledge.

It's quite telling when you think about it.

I post an opinion and get cussed on maemo lol

i post an opinion on Iphone/droid forum and get info and actual maemo help.

Hmm lol

Reading your original post, asking about the emulator, it was very clear that you'd made no effort in investigating how emulators actually work, before asking your question.

Besides that, I think it would be common knowledge that roms of games are at the very least, a grey area copyright wise, and that asking for them on a semi-official forum, might not be the best idea..

And bumping your own thread after 3 hours, and subsequently complaining about the answers you actually got after that, makes you look quite touchy from my point of view.
