This will clean the packages cache?! At least it does on debian...

If it works you should have freed some space on /var
After that it should be possible to remove other packages!

But as I just send back my N900 I cannot test it for you...

n/p glad I could help

If I where you clear some more space by removing some applications otherwise you will get the same problem back.

Now, the quetion is how to move files around. as seen in the picture, I have plenty of space in one the folders while the othes are essentially full. How do I move things around?


Also, it seems like I have acquired bug on my phone because whenever I tap on a blank box in an attemp to type, EVEN WHEN THE QWERTY KEYBOARD IS OPENED, it takes me to the virtual keyboad. Anybody else encountered this phenomenon? Is the only remedy to re-flash?

I don't think you have to move things around.....just get rid of those devel packages. If you move files around probably they will not work anymore or you have to create symbolic links....

My n900 has slowed right down, also video clips now dont show picture in media player, have tried switching off and on with no luck, is there anything i can do?

Try the following....(no garantee)
Goto settings and then push on the topbar.....you could try to reset the N900 to original factory settings....

unlock = 12345

But as I so not have a N900 I could have it wrong....
