Found this thread whilst searchimg for a newsgroup client. Presume not much call amongst the community for this then......

So just wondered if as a work round I could install easy Debian and then install a newsgroup client that runs on that? (obviously this assumes there is one) This also means my second question is what newsgroup clients run on easy debian?
Thanks
G

I think you can install Pan in easy debian, as it is available in debian for the armel architecture. Note this is not connected to maemo-pan which has something to do with bluetooth.

thanks everyone.

I tried this program for subscribe to newsgroups but I can't confirm the subscription to newsgroup. Where is the "OK" button? I tried many shortcut but none confirm the subscription.
I resolved my problem editing the file /home/user/.claws-mail/folderlist.xml to myself.

Does this mean that claws email works as NNTP client on N900?

What about pan: I read that Version 0.133 is for Maemo too:
"Operating systems support:
- Debian
- Fedora Core 6
- Gentoo
- Mandriva
- Maemo
- SuSE
- Ubuntu (Breezy, Dapper and Edgy)
- Ubuntu Fiesty AMD64
- Windows"

But there are only sources:
http://pan.rebelbase.com/download/releases/0.133/
Any deb for this?

Other usenet clients?

I'm fairly certain I tried claws nntp cabability on my N800 (note the 8 so my experience may not apply) and it was ok. I think there was a pan newsreader around for the 770 for OS2005 (so we're talking really old dinosaur stuff here) but nothing more recent.
