I've been using Firefox exclusively on the desktop for like ten years, and I like it a lot. But seriously, Fennec is becoming a challenger to Duke Nukem Forever in the vaporware category.

We've been hearing promises about it for, what, four years ? It was too slow on the 770. It was too slow on the N8x0. It's still too slow on the N900, despite the leaps and bounds in hardware. This is turning into a joke.

Meanwhile, webkit-based Tear kicks butt...

The beta isn't optified (pretty sure it isn't) but the nightly builds they have going are.

I'm using the built in but waiting to try Fennec. The BBC says release is just round the corner. This news item is pro-open source and less complementary about the iPhone approach.

Would love to use Firefox but when I installed it, it was way too slow and I'm assuming since it was still beta. If that's how slow it will be when it goes official, then I'm sticking with Maemo Browser which is what I'm currently using and honestly I think it's awesome!

I'd like to see it succeed too. It's good to have more choices.
