What email provider are you using? IMAP/POP/MFE or Nokia Messaging?

Mobile Me, Gmail and Work POP email.

I just removed the sim card and turned off the connection. Now the gmail account and one of the me accounts are fine.

My main mobile me account is giving me problems. It will load the email account, but just locks up and does not allow me to scroll through the emails. Then it says email application not responding.

Any thoughts?

Unfortunately no, I don't use POP3 or Mobile Me so I can't say for sure why it would fail.

I assume you are using IMAP for Gmail? I didn't see any problems with IMAP working when not connected.

It seems like its not supposed to fail when disconnected. Possibly something that would improve in the next firmware - I know there were lots of performance issues with large mailboxes so the mail client was getting some fixes.

im using Imap gmail, Imap work mail on my n900... without a connection i can only see the list of email in my inbox... only the emails previously accessed can be opened... for the rest u need a connection... this is an issue with the Modest client... it doesnt allow u to retrieve a certain amount of the email like on win mo. hopefully this issue will be addressed soon as it's a must for most users.... not only we cant access our mails offline, but lets say u receive a 4 megs email, and want just to check whats written in it without downloading the attachements... well u cant... Modest client downloads the whole content when u click on the mail!!!
