I have the same problem and i have a small workaround:
After boot i have to restart the tablet-browser-daemon.
/etc/init.d/tablet-browser-daemon.init restart
After that i can start the Browser.
After boot <ps -ef> "/usr/sbin/browserd -s xxxx -n browserui" is not in the prozesslist.
After restart it was listet. But why it dont starts at boottime?

I received my N900 yesterday, upgraded to PR1.1 and then installed Fennec RC3. I think this is when MicroB stopped working. I tried to play around with the profile dir unti I saw you post. The posted tip works... so now I fully agree with you ... Why is table-browser-daemon no longer started automatically ?
