Integrated spellcheck should be a priority. I am somewhat disappointed that I cannot spellcheck from email, MaStory or note-taking applications.

The profiles should link to the calendar (in such a way that the 'phone goes silent during certain appointments).

Desktop notification for unread emails in the status area (next to the other indicators).

Dedicated office applications (Open Office, KOffice, AbiWord. etc.) with the ability to edit and spellcheck.

Video support for Skype.

Integration of microblogging (Twitter, Identi.ca, etc.) into communications.

These are the major things I am looking for. Very happy with the N900 on the whole. Just confused as to why a device with a keyboard lacks spell check....

One app I'd like to see is some kind of call manager.

For N95 and N97 there is an app called advanced call manager and it is not free.

In the app you can block numbers in you contactlist and automatically send sms and stuff like that.

Here is the url http://my-symbian.com/s60v3/software...q=1&fldAuto=73

I miss the good old gmail-notifier from my N800.

As to the first post:
1. Last.fm player (Canola is not a good one at all)
I can see Vagalume in the applications list. Have you tried it? I was extremely happy with it on my N800. I haven't installed it on the N900 because last.fm pulled the plug on my country.

Aren't those (and some more of your points) already in repositories? G! Maps and Latitude in Google Latitude Updater (broken ATM, but worked 3 days ago).

Isn't GMail already integrated? I'm using it and not via browser.

What am I missing?

Most of my wishlist are on their way.

More profiles (with tweakr)
Profiles configuable by time or connection (with shepherd)
Editable office programme (kOffice if it ever arrives, Open office - I'd even pay for dataviz if it were editable)
Shopping list (shopper)
Bible (Rapier and Katana)
And a few items I like the look of in the ovi store.

In my case, it's not so much a wish-list as a wait-list

Hardware-wise, I wish the N900 had come delivered with a compass. That noise-cancelling feature on the Nexus One looks particularly tasty, too. I wish there was more main memory associated with the OMAP - that would lessen swappiness and hesitation. I wish that more storage could have been given over to the root filesystem so that we didn't have to deal with optification issues.

Guess those will have to wait for N9xx.

On the software side, I wish they'd made Maemo a multiuser system. I'd like to have my wife identify herself and have access to her own desktop. I'd like to see more use of internal encryption, so that if your phone was stolen or lost you wouldn't lose your private data.

I'm really hungry for Office (esp. .xls) support. On my E90 I has 5-10 spreadsheets that were basically applications.

I'd also like a comprehensive call log. I sometimes need to know the timing of the last 8 or 9 attempts (in versus out) when I'm stuck playing "phone tag".

I seem to get "interference" between my Bluetooth and WiFi. Listening to podcasts arriving at work, playback gets choppy when WiFi connects.

and more as I think of it....
