Hi folks.

I really like the look of some of the software listed on my-maemo.com. I have added their repository using the details listed on their site, but the software doesn't appear in the app manager. Do I need to use apt-get instead? All help appreciated!

The software listed on my-maemo is software hosted here and it's mostly in the extras-testing repository.

Can someone provide useful repos for must have applications?

There are already useful repos, the most important is Maemo.org Extras. Many of the must have apps are there, and it should be in your N900 by default.

it is safe to add repositories of third parties ?
for instant i have only the nokia
https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle/ssu/apps/

and the maemo + the maemo extras


the programmes that are proposed here (maemo.org/download/) from external repos are safe ?

I'd like to use debian repositories. Is it possible? How can I do it?

Through Easy Debian, which provides a chroot-ed Debian image from where you can access the hardware without tampering with the OS of the N900. See this thread: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=34550

I add these but keeps coming up 'failed to refresh'. I tryed this on app manager and on faster app manager but keeps saying error. Whats going on???
