I have an unlocked phone so I don't think the issue with SIM chip would impact me...

@GeneralAntilles, why can't I flash the device with old firmware? I have an unlocked phone so I don't think the issue with SIM chip would impact me...

I am with Zenali. I thought the device was great after the mini update and the opening of the OVI store. But this latest "big" update has doen nothing good and plenty bad. All my imported videos, that worked fine before, now refuse to play. The device has rebooted 6 times since the update. Features that have been added do nit work. Fast shortcuts? No one knows what that means, and quick dial voicemail does not work either.
I was genuinely excited for this release and it has offered nothing but made my N900 useless as far as playing video is concerned. The trouble is that I fear it will be 2-3 months before i have a true multimedia device again.

The battery life is greatly reduced and the phone runs hot even switched off...
After some testing I realized it is the IM that is causing it... If I disconnect from all the IM networks, battery life is fine and phone runs cool but once I start the connectivity to skype or haze etc, the phone runs hot and battery life drops dramatically.
