Downtown where (city)? Someone posted a 4.5Mb download speed on another forum, for their AT&T service in Washington, DC. Maybe something to do with AT&T network upgrades forcing connection to the higher level.

i was able to use the 3G just fine with no problems i ran a speedtest and it said att on the bottom ill try and go back today and take a screenshot for u guys of the speedtest to show u im not bs and am confused as hell

Colnago, the issue is that apparantly the N900 does not support AT&T 3G. You're just showing an iPhone connected and its speed, which is normal, the iPhone connects to AT&T's 3G band. The N900 does not.

For his phone to suddenly work on AT&T's 3G band would mean AT&T may be broadcasting on a different band or something. *shrug* It should NOT be working.

There is a 2G/3G app you can download in the testing repository.
